New Naples Hotels! What you need to know!
We’re thrilled to be kicking off flights to Naples, and we wanted to take a moment to give you a quick introduction to two hotels you may see on your layover schedules: Hotel Royal Caserta and Hotel Vanvitelli.
HOTEL ROYAL CASERTA
This hotel is a lovely, comfortable spot located right in the heart of Caserta, just steps away from the stunning Royal Palace of Caserta (Reggia di Caserta) – a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the largest palaces in the world. Most of the rooms in this hotel offer a palace view. If you have some time, it’s absolutely worth a visit — the gardens are beautiful for a walk or just to relax. The palace opens around 8 AM and tickets are 18 euros. You can definitely get your daily steps in there and be sure to have your camera ready – the palace is massive and absolutely breathtaking.

HOTEL VANVITELLI
Hotel Vanvitelli in Caserta is a grand four-star property built as a stunning replica of the nearby Royal Palace of Caserta, blending regal charm with modern comfort. The hotel features a Renaissance-inspired outdoor pool, which opens for the season along with a poolside bar serving drinks and light meals—perfect for relaxing under the Italian sun. Just steps from the pool area is a separate building housing a stylish bar, ideal for evening cocktails. Don’t miss the incredible spa located downstairs, a hidden gem featuring several thermal pools, massage rooms, red and blue light therapy rooms, and various saunas. Flight crews are especially welcome, with day access to the spa available for just €30. While the hotel sits slightly outside Caserta’s bustling downtown there is Lidl supermarket about a 10-minute walk away, although the pathway is more of a grass, there is another supermarket can be reached within 7–15 minutes on foot and the path is behind the hotel. Nearby dining highlights include Tempora, offering classic Italian and Neapolitan dishes just steps away; Mister Beef, a favorite for steak, pizza, and Mediterranean fare (0.2 km); Trattoria Pepe, serving fresh seafood and regional specialties (0.4 km)

CASERTA? WHAT DO I DO IN CASERTA?
Getting around Caserta – Naples:
The Caserta train station is conveniently just across the street from the Hotel Royal Caserta and about 15 minute Taxi ride from Hotel Vanvitelli, making it super easy to get into central Naples – it’s about a 30–45 minute ride. Trains run frequently, and it’s a great way to explore more of the region without needing a car. Double-check on Google or at the ticket kiosk to see which train is the fastest and which ones have more stops. Trains start very early in the morning and run until late evening. From Naples, you can easily get a train to Pompeii, Sorrento, Positano or Amalfi Coast.
Nearby conveniences & food:
- Gran Caffè Margherita – a historic café in Piazza Dante (Caserta downtown) known for its quality coffee.
- Pasticceria Pieretti – a tasty bakery offering a wide range of pastries and cakes.
- Pasticceria Benefico – a bakery known for its innovative take on classic pastries.
For meals, you’ve got some great local spots around. A few of my personal favorites include:
- Pizzeria I Masanielli – consistently rated as one of the top pizzerias in the country and highly recommended by locals.
- Ristorante Tre Farine – for classic Italian dishes in a modern, relaxed setting.
- Antica Hostaria Massa – perfect for a more traditional and cozy dinner.
- Ristorante Officina 14 – a popular choice for locals and visitors with great seafood options. And of course, for gelato (because what would be a trip to Italy without gelato), check out:
- Gelateria Vanilla Ice
- Fantasia Gelati – if you love pistachio, try the pistachio with chocolate!
- Gelateria La Fenice
- Capatoast Gelato Artigianale
We hope you enjoy your time in Caserta. It’s a charming area with a lot to see, eat, and experience. As always, feel free to share any tips or favorite finds with the team!
